حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُعَاذٌ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُعَاذٍ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: كَتَبْتُ إِلَى نَافِعٍ أَسْأَلُهُ هَلْ كَانَتِ الدَّعْوَةُ قَبْلَ الْقِتَالِ ؟ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ: إِنَّمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ أَوَّلَ الْإِسْلَامِ، وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَغَارَ عَلَى بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ وَهُمْ غَارُّونَ ، وَأَنْعَامُهُمْ تُسْقَى عَلَى الْمَاءِ، فَقَتَلَهُمْ وَسَبَى سَبْيَهُمْ، فَأَصَابَ يَوْمَئِذٍ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ . حَدَّثَنِي بِهَذَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، وَكَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْجَيْشِ
