حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ رُسْتُمَ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ: " كُنْتُ رَافِعًا عَنْ رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُصْنًا مِنْ أَغْصَانِ الشَّجَرَةِ وَهُوَ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ، فَلَمْ يُبَايِعْهُمْ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ، بَايَعَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْ لَا يَفِرُّوا .
