العَنَت: المشقةُ والشدة والزنا.المشقة، عنت يعنت - كفرح - عنتا، قال اللّه تعالى: ﴿ذلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ اَلْعَنَتَ مِنْكُمْ﴾.
