حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا حَضَرَتْ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الْوَفَاةُ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عُمَرَ لِيَسْتَخْلِفَهُ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: اسْتَخْلَفْتَ عَلَيْنَا فَظًّا غَلِيظًا، فَلَوْ مَلَكَنَا كَانَ أَفَظَّ وَأَغْلَظَ، مَاذَا تَقُولُ لِرَبِّكَ إِذَا أَتَيْتَهُ وَقَدِ اسْتَخْلَفْتَ عَلَيْنَا، قَالَ: أَتُخَوِّفُونِي بِرَبِّي ؟ ! أَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ أَمَّرْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ خَيْرَ أَهْلِكَ
