حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَرْثٍ مُتَوَكِّئًا عَلَى عَسِيبٍ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ، فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الرُّوحِ، فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ: وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الرُّوحِ قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّي وَمَا أُوتِيتُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلا قَلِيلا .
